The research team collected the criteria that define prototype and visualize the relation among them as follows.

Maps
The three maps show different relationships connecting these data:
“AIMS (overview)” shows the distribution of references in relations to the cluster of aims and sub-aims that we pointed out through the literature review.
“AIMS <-> DISCIPLINES” shows the relation between the “Aims of prototypes” used in design research of a specific “Disciplinary area”. The visualisation points out also the quantity of references that mention such relation.
“AIMS <-> TERMINOLOGY” shows the “Terminology” applied in design research when researchers describe their research prototype or similar objects in relation to the “Aims” for which they are used. The visualisation points out also the quantity of references that mention such relation.
